Ayudar Ltd started life as Systemease Ltd in 1988. Founded by John Mansfield & Kevin Hard, the company soon built up an impressive list of customers.

In the early days, there were two main focuses for the business (1) cost reduction maximising the use of the various BT discount schemes available and eliminating billing errors which to this day are a surprisingly common occurrence, and (2) providing advice on PBX and telephone equipment selection and multi site networking. With the advent of deregulation, Systemease became one of the first companies in the UK to advise on the use of alternative carriers to BT.

In 1991, Systemease merged with Quest Communications to form EQS Associates Ltd. Over the next decade the company enjoyed notable success with over 1000 customers including County and District Councils, NHS Trusts, charitable organisations, FTSE100 companies and a host of small and medium size enterprises.

In June 2001, EQS Associates re-branded and Ayudar was formed the name being taken from the Spanish verb “Ayudar” meaning “to help or assist”. Ayudar will continue with the original vision started with Systemease in 1988 to provide expert independent telecom advice.

Ayudar has now been providing advice on telecoms for over 17 years - a long time in telecoms. The secret of our success? Simple. Ayudar excels at providing an exceptional service to our customers with many retaining our services on a regular basis and many recommending us to their business partners.

The two Executive Directors of the company are John Mansfield & Ken Macdonald. Kevin Hard still maintains a company interest in a consultative role.

John Mansfield has 28 years experience in telecoms including the setting up a world wide data network for DHL, development of customized solutions for clients including software design of X400 and IP systems and has been Telecoms Manager to several major companies.

Ken Macdonald started working life in 1977 as a telephone technician apprentice with Post Office Telephones (later to become BT). Sponsored through university by BT and apart from four years project management in the defense industry has been in telecoms or IT ever since. Joined EQS in 1992 and has been with Ayudar from the start.

Our head office is located at Sheraton House, Cambridge where the office team co-ordinate operations for the consultants based at all points from Yeovil to Inverness.
